We are the minds behind ShadowFinder.
H5labs is a small development team. We focus on web tools and small websites — things you open, use quickly and close again.
What we do
Web tools
Small tools that do one thing well. Open, use, done — no login hurdles, no clutter.
Small websites
Sites for projects, clubs and ideas. Built fast, load fast, and easy to maintain later.
From idea to browser
Idea, prototype, launch — all from one team. You talk directly to the people building it.
Our first project
ShadowFinder
ShadowFinder shows you where the sun is and where shadows fall at your location — at any time of day. Tree, parasol or car: two taps and you know whether your spot is in the shade.
ShadowFinder really shines with GPS and a compass — so use it on a smartphone or tablet. Laptops lack these sensors.

Sun path with elevation and azimuth
See where the sun is and how long a shadow gets.
Objects: tree, parasol, vehicle
Two taps and you know whether your spot is in the shade.
Compass overlay
Turn your device and the directions line up with the view.
Guides for garden, camping & solar
Short guides that make the tool useful right away.
On Google Play & as a web app
Install it on Android from Google Play or straight from your mobile browser — in German and English.
